Baking is such a cozy, satisfying part of homemaking, isn’t it? There’s something truly special about transforming simple ingredients into treats for the people you love. *Ahem* and ourselves. If you’re anything like me, you’re always on the hunt for little tricks to make life in the kitchen easier (and just a bit more vibey.) Today, I’m spilling the tea on three genius baking hacks that every homemaker needs. I’m telling you, these tips have gone viral for a reason, and once you try them, you’ll totally see why!

1. Sprinkle Flour with a Salt Shaker

This first hack is such a simple but brilliant idea that I can’t believe I didn’t think of it sooner. You know when a recipe calls for a lightly floured surface and somehow you always end up with either way too much flour or not enough? Enter the salt shaker!

Here’s the trick: Fill an empty salt shaker with flour. The next time you need to dust your countertop, just shake it over the surface. You’ll get the perfect little sprinkle of flour every single time. It’s tidy, it’s easy. It’s the hack I needed in my life so much sooner!

2. Skip the Sticky Measuring Nightmare

We’ve all been there. You’re trying to measure something sticky like honey, syrup, or molasses, and before you know it, it’s all over your measuring spoons. Oh, and good luck getting that perfect measurement without a sticky mess (or endless washing). Here’s a hack for that!

Instead of using the spoons themselves, press one into a pile of flour to create a little molded imprint of the size you need. Then, pour your sticky ingredient directly into the imprint. Ta-da! No mess, no frustration, and you still get just the right amount. Plus, something about shaping flour into perfect little molds feels so satisfying.

3. Room Temperature Egg Hack

You’re halfway through whipping up your batter, and your recipe calls for room-temperature eggs. But, oh no! All your eggs are in the fridge, icy cold and far from ready. Don’t panic! There’s an easy fix, and it doesn’t involve waiting around for 30+ minutes.

Simply take however many eggs you need and place them in a bowl of warm water. (Not hot! Just comfortably warm, like kiddo bubble bath temps.) Let them sit for about 5–10 minutes, and voilà! You’ve got room-temperature eggs ready for action. This trick is a lifesaver when you’re in a time crunch or simply forgot to plan ahead.
