Hey Domestic Darlings! I don’t know about you, but my bedroom is more than just a place to sleep—it’s my sanctuary, and my retreat from the day-to-day hustle. A clean and clutter-free space to decompress from life’s craziness can do wonders for your mood and mind. If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed by the idea of giving your bedroom a deep clean, don’t worry! The last thing we want to do is have to spend our entire weekend deep cleaning (especially after a long week!). Enter, my 5 Minute Miracles AKA cleaning tasks you can do in 5 minutes or less: bedroom edition.

This guide will walk you through some simple “5 Minute Miracles” for bedroom cleaning, along with a once-a-month deep-clean routine that ensures no dust bunny gets left behind.

What Are 5 Minute Bedroom Miracles?

When life is demanding, it can feel impossible to carve out time for housework. That’s where 5 Minute Miracles come in. These are quick, effective cleaning tasks that take just a few minutes but make a noticeable difference. The best part? You can fit them into your morning or evening routine!

Keep a small cleaning kit stashed in your bedroom with essentials like multi-purpose cleaner, glass cleaner, (you can pour your fave into travel size spray bottles if you like, and a few microfiber cloths, so you’re ready to tackle a task whenever you have five spare minutes. Whether it’s right after you wake up or before heading to bed, doing one task at a time makes maintaining a clean bedroom totally doable.

How to Work 5 Minute Miracles Into Your Routine

I have a whole post on how to use 5 Minute Miracles here. But here’s some other ways you can easily weave these tasks into your day:

  • Morning: Before making your bed, pick a task from the printable and check it off. Cleaning a window or emptying the trash can kickstart your day on a productive note.
  • Evening: Wind down by completing a relaxing task. Wiping the nightstand, or dusting your headboard can create a calmer, more peaceful bedtime atmosphere.
  • Daily/Weekly Cleaning Routine: You can find my post on my daily cleaning routine here, but basically every week I spend 15 minutes on Mondays or Saturdays deep cleaning in a rotating zone of my home! I love to use my 5 Minute Miracles while I do that so I can get as much done as possible.

5-Minute Bedroom Cleaning Tasks

Here are some examples of 5 Minute Miracles you can start using right away:

  1. Wash a Window: Grab some glass cleaner and a microfiber cloth to brighten up the space instantly. Clean panes and sills for a freshened-up view.
  2. Refresh Bedding: Wash or air out your mattress pad, sheets, or comforter. Bedding that’s clean and sun-kissed feels so much better.
  3. Change Pillowcases: Refresh your pillowcases to keep things hygienic and skin-friendly. Silk pillowcases are even better for hair and skin health.
  4. Tidy Your Nightstand: Wipe down surfaces and declutter drawers for a more organized bedside.
  5. Dust Lampshades & Headboards: Use a soft dusting cloth to clear away buildup. Try spraying lampshades lightly with a homemade fabric mist for an added calming scent.
  6. Clean and Purge: Spend five minutes decluttering a drawer, sorting dirty clothes, or removing a few items from your closet. Small efforts add up!
  7. Vacuum or Sweep Under the Bed: Clear out those sneaky dust bunnies and keep allergens at bay.
  8. Air Out Your Mattress: Sprinkle some baking soda on your mattress, leave it for 15 minutes, and vacuum it off. Follow with a spritz of fabric spray.

Deep Cleaning Speed Reset Checklist

Once a month, set aside 15 minutes to tackle a deeper bedroom clean. This system works top-to-bottom, so you don’t miss a thing. What I do is set a timer for 15 minutes and try to get as many of these done as possible. Since I’m using my zone system, I know I can either get to whatever Feel free to adapt it for other rooms in your home, too!

Here’s the Full Checklist:

  • Dust ceilings, vents, and light fixtures
  • Dust wall hangings and walls
  • Wipe down doors, molding, and baseboards
  • Clean door handles and light switches
  • Vacuum windowsills and curtains
  • Wash windows
  • Dust/clean lamps, electronics, and small appliances
  • Vacuum fabric furniture and pillows
  • Vacuum or sweep floors, rugs, and carpets
  • Mop floors

This reset can completely transform your bedroom in under 20 minutes! Turn on some calming music or one of your favorite old-fashioned radio shows for company, and fly through the list.
