Today I’m sharing the super easy laundry routine that literally rescued my homemaking!

Hey there, girl! Tired of feeling overwhelmed by never-ending piles of laundry? Same! I used to be the not-so-proud owner of multiple overflowing hampers and a chaotic laundry room which made me feel like I was losing it. For me, the never-ending pile of dirty clothes felt like an insurmountable mountain. Each day added more to the heap, and it felt impossible to catch up, let alone get ahead!

Maybe you can relate? If your cluttered laundry room has become a major source of stress, and the thought of facing another load feels downright draining fear not! I’ve got a game-changing laundry routine that will save your sanity, just like it saved mine from the nightmare I described above! With just one load a day, six days a week, you can keep your family in clean clothes and your laundry room looking fab.  Using this routine has transformed laundry from an overwhelming chore into a manageable task, for me and I’m SOOO excited to share it with you! Let’s get into it! 💪

P.S. If you’re a naturally minded mama like me and want some non-toxic laundry recipes you can check out my post on that here where I share my Top 3 Non-Toxic Laundry Hacks!

The Ultimate Weekly Laundry Schedule

Monday: Whites & Lights

I start my week by washing my whites and lights. White and lights are best washed in hot water with a ‘whiten and brighten’ boost and fabric softener, then dried on low heat. I’m super sensitive to chemical/store bought detergents and boosts so I like to use my own non-toxic hacks for this instead. You can check out my post on non-toxic laundry hacks here, if you feel the same!

Tuesday: Delicate Clothing

Tuesdays are for lingerie and sweaters or any ultra-nice delicate clothing that may need a little extra care! Use cold water on a hand-wash or delicate setting on your machine in laundry bags. Some pieces might need to be hand-washed like cashmere or expensive bras. Everhting should be hung out to dry instead of dried in your machine! A hack that saves me some time, is I will keep a little laundry detergent in the shower and take my bra or panties in with me to wash while I shower.

Today I'm sharing the laundry routine that saved my sanity, and the clothes in my closet! If you're looking for a cleaning routine that will keep you on top of the laundry in your house, this is it!

Wednesday: Exercise Clothes & Casual Underthings

Mid-week, I wash exercise clothes and any colored or casual undergarments. For this I use warm water on a delicate wash setting, followed by an ultra-low dry. There’s no need for any add-ins usually depending on what I’m washing!

Thursday: Darks

Thursdays are for darks, and is usally the biggest load for most families like mine who wear a lot of jeans and dark neutrals. Wash these in cold water (remember to turn jeans inside out) and use fabric softener. Then all you have to do is dry on ultra-low heat.

Friday: Rags & Towels

On Fridays, I wash rags and towels on a sanitize wash setting with hot water. I like to add my natural ‘whiten and brighten’ boost (hydrogen peroxide in the bleach dispenser) and dry on regular heat.

Saturday: Sheets & Pillowcases

Finally, Saturdays are for sheets and pillowcases. I don’t know about you, but I ADORE the feeling of slipping into a bed with clean, fresh-smelling sheets, especially after a hot shower cloaked in clean pjs! All you have to do for these is use warm water on a normal wash cycle and a regular dry cycle.

My Ultimate Laundry Hack: Following my 1950s Radio Cleaning Routine

I do all of this while listening to my Domestic Darling 1950s Radio Cleaning Routine (you can get your free episodes here) which plays a new episode every day of the 1950s radio show Dragnet! While guiding me through my morning cleaning tasks (view my post on that here) including what load of laundry to put in the washer following the routine above!

Imagine this: laundry is no longer a nightmare because you’re listening to daily guided True Crime cleaning routines. These routines tell you what load to wash, what settings to use, and what add-ins to include. And if you prefer natural alternatives to chemical fabric softeners or boosts, I’ll guide you on non-toxic products you can use instead, like hydrogen peroxide or vinegar.

With this routine, there’s no dragging around a timer, no decision fatigue over what load of laundry to put in the washer, and no getting sidetracked and frustrated. The audio will bring you right back to the task at hand.

And the best part? I’m giving everyone who wants some free mp3 downloads of the routine, just click here to get yours!

Get My Ultimate Laundry Guide + Tag Printable!

To make things even easier, I have a laundry printable guide that has tags you can laminate and put on your laundry baskets that guide you through everything I talked about in this post! This way, you know what loads they are, and it also breaks down the wash settings, so you have all the information written out in front of you. You can check that out here.

And that’s my simple laundry routine!

I hope this routine helps you transform your home and your homemaking like it has for me. I’ll see you next time!
