Hey girl! Tired of those nasty chemicals lurking in your cleaning products? You’re not alone! Let’s kick those toxins to the curb and switch to something safer and easier! In this post, I’ll spill the beans on the top four non-toxic cleaning supplies I swear by, and think that every homemaker needs. Next to my top 3 cleaning recipes I use (check out my post on that here) these natural goodies are my absolute go-to for a clean home without the worry. Let’s get into it! đź’–

1. Alcohol: The Best Disinfectant for Non-Toxic Cleaning

Whether it’s rubbing alcohol or vodka, this is a great surface disinfectant. You can also use it for cleaning dry erase boards, makeup brushes, sinks, and chrome, deodorizing shoes, dissolving windshield frost, getting rid of fruit flies, cleaning jewelry, refreshing sponges that have gotten dingy and nasty, removing ink and permanent marker stains, and cleaning stainless steel.

It’s one of my absolute go-tos because a lot of times natural, non-toxic homemade cleaning supplies don’t necessarily disinfect (vinegar, I love you, but you’re one of them). So, I like to have alcohol on hand for disinfecting things that really need it, like cleaning the fridge, kitchen messes especially after cooking with chicken, and cleaning the bathroom.

If you are tired of toxic cleaning chemicals I've got 4 non-toxic cleaning supplies and ingredients that you can use to clean naturally.

2. Vinegar

While I did throw a little shade her way just now, vinegar is still a staple I use because it’s so versatile. You can use it for cleaning windows, wine glasses, the microwave, stove, floors, kitchen sink, coffee makers, kettles, blenders, plastic cutting boards, showerheads, and faucets. It’s also a good stain and rust remover and perfect for cleaning garbage cans.

However, be careful not to use it on natural stone and wood as it can dry them out.

3. Hydrogen Peroxide

Hydrogen peroxide is great for sanitizing beauty and manicure tools, disinfecting toothbrushes and mouthguards, cutting boards, brightening discolored dishes, sanitizing reusable grocery bags, shining mirrors, and removing underarm stains. It’s also an excellent whitener, which is why I include it in a lot of my laundry routines.

4. Washing Soda

Washing soda is the final must-have. It’s perfect for making homemade laundry detergent, cleaning carpet stains, making a homemade all-purpose spray, softening water, cleaning grills, blinds, pots and pans, dishwasher soap, tile, and grout. You can also get rid of hard water stains with it and it’s great for degreasing the range hood!

Now, I have compiled all these natural cleaning ingredients into a printable that you can print onto sticker paper and stick onto your containers! It has all my cleaning recipes that I make from scratch (more than a dozen of them!) like my disinfecting spray, glass cleaner, and dusting spray (check out my post with those 3 recipes here). They also include labels for ingredients like the ones I shared in today’s post, where I list all the things you can clean with just them! Just like I did in this post! These adorable little stickers are your new best friends because they’ve got all the cleaning recipes you need. You can check them out here!

And those were the non-toxic cleaning supply ingredients I recommend having on hand!

I hope this helps! I love to have all four of these things on hand and it’s definitely what I’d recommend starting with if you’re trying to get into using more non-toxic cleaning supplies or making your own cleaners. I’ll see you next time, Domestic Darling!
